In the spirit of the book, the central idea is not to move our energy dependence from one source to another but to stop our dependence on oil.  As an Example: To Charge batteries we must create more electricity which means using more oil, gas, coal, etc. The same with Hydrogen and Ethanol, it takes and enormous amount of energy to create both.

Winner agrees to make his/her system available to a wide range of individuals or manufactures through licensing agreements much like in the book.

The contest will end when the first entrant comes forth with a winning automobile on/or before July 4, 2012.  At that time the author John Raymond Takacs, his heir(s) or representative(s) will be allowed to extend the contest entirely at his discretion or if no potential winners come forward will donate the entire portion of the trust account to universities or other organizations that are committed to alternative automotive energy development.  The author will not keep any of the monies donated into the trust fund.

The contest is subject to the laws of the state of California.

The author John Raymond Takacs, his heir(s) or representative(s) will be the sole judge of this contest.
